Conveniently located apartment with pros and cons

We were warmly welcomed by the owner, Christine — a truly lovely host. She had thoughtfully prepared the apartment with water in the fridge, Nespresso capsules, sugar, and other essentials to help us settle in comfortably. The location was simply unbeatable. Just steps away from a metro station and within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower and several other attractions. The neighborhood also offers plenty of restaurants and supermarkets, which made our stay even more convenient. The apartment itself is nice, though not new, and could benefit from some maintenance in areas like the floor and door handles. The toilet is separate from the shower room (which I learned is quite standard in Paris), but it would be very helpful to have a small sink inside the toilet itself to avoid walking across the apartment just to wash your hands. One thing to note: the photos showed a main bedroom with a double bed, but in reality it was two single beds. This meant my wife and I ended up using the sofa bed, while our son slept in the bedroom. The apartment is on the second floor, which can feel a bit tiring after a long day of walking, but nothing too problematic. The wooden floors do creak quite a bit — perhaps that’s why there are so many carpets. Overall, we really appreciated the thoughtful details, the incredible location, and Christine’s warm welcome, though a few updates would make the stay even more comfortable.
